Where is Redoubt Lodge – Located at the entrance to Lake Clark Pass offers the only accommodations within a 171,000 acre critical habitat area. The lodge is the only 5-acre privately owned property in the region. This small, rustic lodge sits on a small knoll overlooking Big River Lakes, a chain of lakes whose waters lead to the Big River and on to Cook Inlet. The lodge is accessible by float plane. Redoubt Bay Lodge is located 50 minutes southwest of Anchorage with the flight offering spectacular scenic views of the Cook Inlet and the western edge of the Kenai Peninsula.
A resident bear population inhabits the Redoubt Bay Lodge area, one of the densest bear populations in the state. Guests have the opportunity to see bears up close as they come down to the lake to fish for salmon. Guests enjoy sport fishing for salmon, kayaking around the lakes, hiking, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat area. We offer excursions into Lake Clark National Park, flight seeing through the Pass and to Redoubt Volcano, and other adventures in the surrounding areas.
Three small lakeside guest cabins, a cozy hand-hewn log main lodge, and world-class staff and service make the stay at Redoubt Bay Lodge a memorable addition to your Alaskan adventure.
Your trip includes a round-trip scenic floatplane trip to Big River Lakes.
